Amazing Benifits Of Yoga
The benefits of yoga are many and extensive, we know about them, but do you know how they actually work? If so you must have seen the results! Here are some amazing Yoga benefits to start your day with a positive attitude.
Yoga Benefits for Energy & Stress Reduction - Stress is the enemy of our health. It’s a feeling that is hard to shake. And it can be very powerful. You could feel stressed out even before your body feels the effects of stress. There are so many reasons behind this phenomenon. One is the amount of information that is available on the internet. Another reason is the fact that in today’s society, most people are always engaged in something. They have their phones on silent 24/7. They don’t get enough sleep or relax enough. This takes its toll on mind and body. So how does meditation help? Is there anything else? And if so, how do you do it? Keep reading to find out more.
Yoga Benefits For Breath Control - As explained earlier, breathing plays an important role in maintaining good physical and mental health. Breathing control can reduce stress, anxiety, depression, pain and fatigue. Many studies have shown that deep breathing exercises can help clear your sinuses, reduce headaches and improve overall sleep quality. Try these simple ways to improve your breath. Take 5 minutes at the end of each practice to close your eyes and breathe deeply for 20 seconds — without any distractions. Hold it for five seconds and then slowly open your eyes. Repeat once. Inhale again while holding your breath for the next minute, repeat the whole procedure 10 times until you complete one full set of 20 breaths. Make sure to let yourself rest between different practices to avoid getting dizzy or lightheaded.
Yoga Benefits For Improved Digestion - You may have noticed that certain yogic techniques promote better digestion, such as those associated with Pranayama and Bhastrika. These yoga processes have a lot of benefits in improving our digestive system, helping us to lose weight, reduce arthritis etc. Here are specific methods you can try to increase the flow of food through your system and promote healthy digestion, such as yoga: Alternate nostril breathing – alternate nostril breathing (pranayama) stimulates blood circulation in both nostrils, which helps flush waste from the gastrointestinal tract, improves digestion and promotes regularity in bowel movements. Focus on diaphragmatic breathing – instead of focusing on breathing through your stomach, try breathing through the top part of your abdomen called trachea and make slow circles around it for 4–6 times each. Doing these exercises will help open up your stomach (and will also give your body plenty of time to absorb your food), so that it doesn’t hold onto toxins too badly. Practice Deep Vinyasa Flow – Practicing deep vinyasa flow is perhaps the quickest way to burn fat and build muscle, and it’s one of the best things you can do when trying to get rid of excess belly fat. To begin practicing deep vinyasa flow try standing quietly with your feet shoulder-width apart. Bring your hands together in front of you, then bring your arms down as low as possible. At first, your arms will be stretched far back and you will not be able to touch your toes. Slowly start bringing your arms closer to your body and move forward to lower your shoulders as much as possible. Finally, return your arms back to your starting position. Do at least 2 sets of 12–14 repetitions for 30 minutes each. Then switch to another exercise. Deep Sitali and Mudras – When practising a mudra or sitali, focus on keeping the knees and elbows straight. Place your palms facing up; take your fingers to the side of the forehead, and use your thumbs to point them downward. Close your eyes and inhale. Release all tension throughout the core and relax the outer parts of your spine. Open your eyes to stretch them out again and repeat. Once relaxed you can gently roll your ankles over one of your heels as if you want to sit on it. Now open your legs wide, lift your chest and twist your torso into a sitting position. Stay here for one minute. Exhale all tension and bring your head back into your hands. Your posture should stay the same after you finish stretching the spine.
Yoga Benefits For A Well-Formed Body Image - We have heard several times “You only look like you” in negative tones, right. But what does that really mean. That being said, that phrase holds true when it comes to every aspect of life, from how we feel about ourselves, to how we perceive others, to how we dress ourselves, to how we eat, drink and live our lives. All these aspects influence the way we think about ourselves, and how we interpret what we see and hear, and ultimately impact our actions and behavior.
Yoga Practices For Self-Love - Yoga is considered to be a self-love practice, and it is. There are various ways to love yourself and make yourself more present to your own needs. Some of the basic steps include mindfulness, gratitude, prayer of thanksgiving, acceptance, kindness, patience, compassion and forgiveness. There are numerous yoga postures to choose from, depending on what type of experience you want and how long you need to invest in it. Find your personal space but remember, you are still you! Meditation, visualization and mantra can all serve to transform your daily outlook and your perception, leaving you feeling confident, inspired and empowered. Think about who wants to follow you. The sooner you learn to welcome their feedback, opinions and suggestions, the quicker you will learn to trust and love yourself.
Yoga Techniques For More Clothes - How can you make your clothes last longer than most people would care to think about them? Yoga has been proven to benefit clothing lovers by adding moisture and keeping them soft and fresh. Not only are clothes made with this technique, but it also contributes to the health and wellness of an individual by removing toxins from the skin and preventing clogged pores and allergies. Look around your closet and notice what clothes are worn often? Are there old ones that no longer fit well? Even the new ones don’t seem to fit as well as they used to. What about new ones? Has anyone mentioned anything about them getting torn or falling on themselves, especially since they started wearing them? Probably because of lack of movement and wear and tear. With the right knowledge and practice, you can transform these clothes into something special, as was the case with Dolly Parton’s famous sewing project. Just add a little effort and care.
Yoga Techniques For Better Sleep - Whether you are struggling with insomnia, chronic sleep deprivation or suffer from disturbed sleep patterns, consider taking some time to meditate to improve your sleep. Our ancestors understood the importance of sleep and created systems to regulate cycles, so much so that sleep disorders are still prevalent in modern society. If you have trouble sleeping, try reading books about human physiology and anatomy and learning all you can about the effects of sleep. Get in bed, close your curtains and fall asleep. After about 15–20 minutes, get up, and stand up. Be careful while doing this movement, and don’t forget to put your shoes on. Most people experience problems starting off at this stage. Next, go to your computer desk chair, turn off your lamp and sit comfortably in it while closing your eyes and concentrating on your breath. Imagine you are floating in space, free from worry. Feel yourself drifting away into a peaceful sleep, where you feel rejuvenated. It sounds like a dream, does that sound familiar? That process keeps repeating itself over and over, until eventually this happens naturally. Eventually, all our worries fade away, so you don’t have to worry anymore. In the meantime, you may want to keep going towards your pillow or couch or in another comfortable position. This meditation is the perfect solution to getting a better night’s sleep.
Yoga Techniques For Stronger Arms & Muscles - Yoga is considered to be a great form of fitness, which can help strengthen muscles, increase strength and flexibility, increase stamina and endurance. The best method to achieve this is through poses and stretching exercises. Various poses involve moving your body in different directions. Standing stretches (asanas) can be done by putting your feet directly on the ground and keeping your hands parallel to the floor. Skipping and bending pose stretches and requires bending the waist. Hanging positions require hanging and twisting your torso and limbs for balance and stability. Backbends involve straightening the spine. Planks involve flexing and lengthening different muscle groups, leading to improved mobility and strengthening the bones. Joint angle poses include bent knee in tiptoes, bent wrists in fists, arching over the chair, bowing knees in twists, etc. Yoga can give people a sense of peace, release stress and anxiety, improve flexibility and performance, and boost immune function and energy levels.
